7 goals with Oman, 5 with Vietnam & 16 goals with Korea in all 28 goals from 3 matches and besides all, ended up with losing 3 players from the squad, these are the achievements of Nepalese Football in this tour.
What was our expectation and players expectation before the tournament started? What exactly was in the mind of Nepalese Squad even a second before the match kicked off? Do they ever think about these kinds of results?
We don't know about the missing players, they must have planned before they left for Korea. But in case of others they must have so determined to get a good result even though they lose the match.
SoccerAgeNepal spoke to Nepalese squad Captain Bal Gopal Maharjan and other players about the tour before they left for Korea. We found them so enthusiastic and willing to do something for the nation and can easily smell their determination toward their duty. But still the result is worst than ever why? Answer is so simple; we still stand in the year between 80s and 90s. We are almost 20 years behind in the development of football in compare to footballing nation like Korea and even with Oman and Vietnam.
We spend most of our valuable time in pulling each others leg rather than supporting. Every body wants to be the boss. No one likes to work hard.
In my thought and calculation, what I see behind this sort of result is the weakness of concern department rather than players. Please answer me honestly- if you were in the team what you think before you step inside the ground?
I hope definitely a better result; of course they must have also played with the same kind of attitude but still couldn't do anything because they are not capable enough to face that sort of team and its way beyond than their reach to handle this kind of situation.
It clearly shows they need more precision, investment, good guidance, strong support, mental strength, facilities and of course more match to play with strong opponents.
I am sure everyone in the nation must have cursing the players after 16-0 defeat against Korea and discussing or thinking that Nepal should not compete in International Arena before they have got new generation to perform in the National Squad.
Here I see this statement is totally wrong, I would like to say in one line and that is, if you stop playing rather than correcting the mistake and moving forward this will be the big mistake that we ever do. Can anyone guarantee that the future team will generate better result if the mistakes not have been taken care off and the same system continues???
If the tendency is as usual, I am sure the football will never rise in Nepal. We must provide more chance for the players to flourish their talent with proper 4 season training under the guidance of good Coach who is always refreshed with the latest technology and game pattern. More your foot got to play the ball more you will be confident, you will learn more, more accuracy you get and more you get perfect.
If ANFA still stay quiet and couldn't make a strong planning for the future of Nepalese football, it's in the process of dying.
This is very important to find out - What we could do to avoid the tendency of missing players as it is very much frequent. We should seriously think on that right from today rather than encouraging them by offering certain level of job and involving them in Nepalese Football industry after their return.
At last but not least, this Industry holds more than 80 percent supporters and expatiators of Nepalese sport. This is our duty that we should not let it die or stay in this kind of condition. Let's start working together by providing supporting hand to each other to promote this Industry. We even shouldn't hesitate to invest because if this runs we all will get enough benefit without any doubt.
