Birthday Cup football Tournament is all set to go from June 8 to mark the Birthday of King Gyanendra, here in Kathmandu, in search of who's who of Nepalese Football after a long gap.
All together 18 teams are participating including three Indian Clubs. 15 "A" Division Club including newly promoted Boudha Football Club, Machhindra Football Club and departmental team of Armed Police Force. United Keurseong Football Club, Sikkim Football Association and CT Young Football Club of Dehra Dun are taking part as a invitees team. Boys Union Club is scheduled to play against Friends Cup in the inaugural match. According to tie-sheet published by ANFA today, newly promoted Machhindra Club will take on Sankata Club on 9th June. League Champion Three Star Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Manang Marshyangdi Club and Mahendra Police Club are directly placed at Pre-quarter where invitees are automatically placed at Quarter except United Kuersoung.
Group "A" is comprised of Three Star Club, Brigade Boys Club, NRT, CT Young Dehradun, Boys Union, Friends Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Mahabir Club and United Kuersoung FC India. In Group "B", Manang Marshyangdi Club, RCT, Boudha Football Club, West Sikkim FC Sikkim, Jawalakhel Youth Club, Armed Police Force, Mahendra Police Club, Machhindra Club and Sankata Club are all set to gear up the tempo.
The winner will walk away with 1, 00,000 Nepalese Rupees and Runners-up will get 50,000 Rupees.
