KATHMANDU - Three Star remaining unbeaten in the league holds MPC in a goal less draw to win the league title this year. It was the league’s favorite match as it has to decide this year’s champion, played under the presence of around fifteen thousands spectators. The packed stadium, reverberation of different musical instruments like symbols, drums, trumpets etc. and the enormous chanting by the supports makes environment so wonderful. Three Star, played like a champion since beginning. It seems to be they have already acknowledged them as a champion before the match started. The condition of the ground was so filthy and watery but couldn’t spoil the importance of the match and its amusement. Three Star had an easy chance to clean sweep the match through penalty at 36 minutes but MPC goalie Ritesh Thapa successfully denied the kick taken by Lok B. Gurung with his feet. Although Police have nothing to loose even if they loss, Three Star restricted them so tightly and not letting them plays explicitly. They had very few chances in the match to score. Ju Munu Rai had a definite chance inside D area to put his team ahead in the match at 42 minutes but his shot went wide, very poor finishing. Rajendra Shrestha missed couple of chances on air and the Ananta Thapa’s header just missed the post. Ramesh Budhathoki and Dev Narayan Choudhary were closely marked by the Three Star defense; they looked so helpless and couldn’t do much. Three Star did have some chances for a goal but MPC goalie and defense made them unsuccessful every time. “It’s a pay back for our continuous hard work, teams effort, support of all and the youth strength. I am so happy; today is the day we are anxiously waiting for”, said Coach Dhruba KC.
